Domain C: Analyzing Student Learning
Student teacher, through knowledge of content pedagogy and skill in delivery instruction, engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies.

I am improving on my classroom management skills, building on what works and what doesn't. Meeting at seminar and sharing strategies of teaching has helped me develop my own and gain attention of my students in shorter time so there is more time to create artwork. For example I have been trying out “If you can see me put your hands on your head,” and so on. I also have tried “If you can hear me put your hands in your lap and eyes up here,” and repeating it occasionally and fading my volume so the class is forced to get quiet to hear me.
"I have started using a “Do Now” activity with my 5th grade and they have been responding to it well. It gets them excited about the lesson that day, recall prior knowledge from the last lesson, and allows me to check for understanding or challenges with the lesson. I love to hear the students coming in and without me saying anything, they are whispering to one another that they should all be doing the Do Now. I have reduced the time it takes to get on task and to get their attention."
