Bergen Arts and Science Charter Middle School

Grades 4-8

For two years, I have been teaching a diverse multicultural population of students at BASCS. The student's come from all areas of North Jersey. The school's mission is to provide the ideal environment for the intellectual and social development of its students by utilizing a combined effort of students, educators, families, and the community as a whole. While at BASCS, I was able to involve the community through teaching all grades, including many siblings, designing and building a fifteen foot by five mosaic mural inside the auditorium, and running Set Design and stage crew for two different productions. I developed standard based lessons and collaborated with different subject areas to create an effective communication between the arts and the student’s other courses.
